The fireworks has long given way to the first few minutes of the New Year 2018..This morning ,from my window, I can see the sun almost struggling to come out of the thick dark grey clouds. When will the dark clouds disperse ? And when will the bright Malaysian sunshine bring that joyful light upon us?
For too long we have been having dismal and unpredictable weather...in reality and metaphorically..so many issues and goings- on have continuously given cause for concern. Words and promises no longer give comfort.
Attention have not been given to the core problems being faced. And now the real fight for power to govern will begin. The General Elections will indeed be in 2018. It does not matter when.
The question is...what is Power for?
Unity cannot be realized through mere slogans
Development cannot be realized without Good Governance that puts people and Country before anything else.
Harmony cannot evolve when politics continue to divide, and pit one against another.
The Future cannot be forged when the Past is ignored and not appreciated.
What we have now is built upon that very strong foundation laid down over the past decades..by those
way before us..BUT mistakes made now will continue to erode that foundation..and Malaysia will face the consequences.
2018 may be a "NEW" Year..
But in reality it is only the tomorrow of yesterday, and the yesterday of tomorrow...as has each and every day been, since the beginning of time.
We live in a continuum...until the end of time.
Those who govern..and seek to govern.. MUST have the Competence to do so in tandem with the challenging global environment..the Integrity and Trustworthiness to be emplaced in their care, the Trust and Hopes of the People..and having the Qualities expected of Leadership.
And fully understand and hold on fast to the Principle of Accountability, Responsibility and always conscious of the heavy burden that the Oath of Office entails.
Politicians think of the next Elections.
Statesmen think on the next Generation.
May the Almighty put right the Compass for Malaysia's direction into the Future.
